History of Cryptocurrency and Nu

2009 - Bitcoin is introduced as open-source software by Satoshi Nakamoto.

2012 - Sunny King releases an open-source fork of Bitcoin called Peercoin. Peercoin is the first digital currency to utilize Proof-of-Stake security.

2013 - Jordan Lee begins development of a fork of Peercoin called Peershares. It is released as open-source software in early 2014.

2014 - Jordan Lee partners with an anonymous investor who provides half a million US dollars in funding for a customized extension of Peershares. Nu is the resulting customized extension.
